Voracity: an excessive desire to eat .
Read all about it: 25 year old vegetarian girl eats too much in London.
Deep fried battered gherkins with mustard mayo (The Green, Farringdon)
Poached Organic Hen Egg and Ribblesdale Pudding. Hickory Smoke Potato Croquette and Pineapple Pickle (Vanilla Black, London)
I wasn’t crazy about this. There wasn’t a good variety of textures, and all in all it felt heavy and a bit greasy.
Snacky lunch: 2 ploughmans sandwiches (cheese and branston pickle) in wholemeal buns. Black olives, salt and pepper crisps and a Quorn scotch egg (Home meal)
Sandwiches with the afternoon tea. From left:
1. Cheese and pickle
2. Cream cheese and cucumber
3. Houmous and roast vegetables
Cheddar and pickle baguette feat red onion and watercress sprouts (Pret a Manger, Barbican)
Decent baguette in a pinch but quite an unhealthy option. More filling than the avocado wrap but not as tasty.
Tofu nut burger with carrot salad and pickle (Terrace, Parliament)
Not sure about the carrot!
Open face Ploughman style sandwich - cheddar and a fruity chutney/pickle (Fortnum & Mason)
Part of a selection of veggie sandwiches - 5 varieties in total, best options I’ve seen yet for a veggie afternoon tea!
Homemade red cabbage Amish slaw - beautiful pinky colour and so gorgeously juicy and tangy. I need to make this again already (Home meal) See previous post for recipe link.
